"Atlas” - For Sale

16.2-3 hands : 8  year old : Percheron/Friesian X : Gelding

Atlas is a sturdy, 8 year old, Percheron/Friesian X, gelding, standing 16.2-3 hands tall. This horse is incredibly stunning and gets attention everywhere he goes. Atlas is extremely well broke to drive and loves to do it. This boy is unique and has a good work ethic. We want the best match for this special horse.

Atlas is truly one of a kind. He is the type of horse you can take down the center of a highway with tractor trailer trucks on both sides, and he won’t even bat an eye. He’s extremely broke and reliable under harness, and you can’t hitch him wrong. He’ll work anywhere you put him and in any kind of hitch. He’d be a priceless asset to any carriage ride company, and certainly one you can’t replace. He’s one of the prettiest movers we’ve had, and he will go on a loose rein never pulling or getting impatient. He’s the ideal horse to pleasure drive, and you won’t find one better broke than he is. He will stand all day to be hitched and wait for his guests to arrive. He knows his job well under harness, and is the type you could hand the reins over to a beginner, without worrying. If you can hold the reins, you can drive this horse.

Atlas has absolutely no spook under harness. He’s completely traffic safe, as well as dog proof and bike safe. He has been desensitized to the tarp and flags, equipment, tractors, mini bikes, and taken right through construction zones. You name it, this boy has seen it- he is as unflappable as they come and completely safe to drive. He is best suited for this job, and we’d love to see him go do what he loves and knows. He’s the type you could take down the busiest street in NYC, and he wouldn’t let you down. Whether you’re looking for a solid horse to drive single, a match for your team, or a horse to complete your four in hand, this boy is ready for the job.

Under saddle, Atlas has a nice wtc both ways, he’s comfortable, prefers a western saddle, and a soft rider. At this time he does require a competent rider, as he is overall a more sensitive ride and requires someone who will take the time to understand him.

He has no bad stall habits, and turns out with both mares and geldings. He’s not overly personable, however he will stand patiently to groom and tack up. He does require mild sedation to do his back feet at the farrier. He can be wary of strangers, and he is one that needs someone to build trust with him and take the time to understand him. He will make you the greatest partner once the bond is there.

Atlas is UTD on shots, deworming, coggins, farrier and dentist. He is available to purchase for $15k.
