“Big Mac” - SOLD

18 hands : 7 year old : Percheron/TB : Gelding

Big Mac is a 7 year old 3/4 Percheron 1/4 Thoroughbred gelding standing 18 hands high. Don’t let his big hooves fool you, this handsome guy has the smoothest gaits, a lovely canter, and even pops over jumps with the cutest knees!  There isn’t a braver trail horse out there. Mac will go anywhere he is pointed with no complaints. Mac is a gentleman in the barn and picks up all four feet with ease. He adores people and loves attention. Mac has many talents and would be suited for a variety of lifestyles and disciplines.

In the ring, Mac will walk, trot, and canter with easy and comfortable gaits. He picks up both leads and has a great whoa. Mac easily steps over fences in the ring, and has been started on small courses and gymnastic grids. He is a big built horse, so although we can’t see him winning a 1.10 jumper round, he could easily and gracefully get around a 2”6-3’ course with some more jumping experience. Mac has primarily been used for flat lessons and has not been in any formal dressage training. He is a smart and athletic enough guy that he would pick up on it quickly if that is the route his next owner desires.

Off property, Mac has the most miles. This horse will go absolutely anywhere he is pointed with no hesitation. He is brave, confident, and trustworthy on the trails and hunter paces. This big guy loves to swim. He would stay in the water all day if we let him! Mac handles rough terrain well and will climb up and down banks, over logs, cross bridges, and is safe around traffic.

In the barn, Mac is polite and easy to get along with. Don’t worry; he is farrier approved and picks up all four of his big hooves (that are strong and barefoot!) He loves being groomed and given attention. He is used to kids, dogs, and other farm animals running around his feet, and doesn’t get worked up in day to day barn chaos. Mac is happy living inside or out and is turned out in a mixed herd of mares and geldings.

Here is the tall, dark, handsome kind that folks ask us for all the time.
