"Merry” - For Sale
16.1 hands : 15 year old : Percheron X : Mare

Merry is a 15 year old, 16-16.1hh, grey Percheron cross. She’s a gentle giant, loaded with a good temperament, and sweet personality. This girl would make a solid trail mount, husband horse, or driving partner. Merry has proved to be a reliable and steady horse.
Merry has most her miles under harness and is a complete dream to drive. She’s brave enough to drive single down the busy road with tractor trailers flying past her, and she never bats an eye. She’s experienced in many different situations and has been driven single, double, and hitched to various farm equipment. She knows her job and enjoys doing it. She is an ideal horse to pleasure drive, and she is our first pick to take out for a leisurely stroll. If you are a beginner wanting to learn to drive with a trainer, she’s the girl for the job. Merry is very willing and soft to drive. She stops with a “Whoa” and will patiently wait for traffic to go by. They don’t come better broke than she is under harness.
On the trail, Merry is very reliable and experienced. She’s never in a hurry, and she’s happy to follow along behind the other horses. She will also step up to the plate and bravely lead the younger ones through a scary bridge or into the water. She’s a fun ride with just enough pep in her step to not have to keep pushing her to go. She’ll pop over logs, cross streams, or go into the river never missing a beat. This pretty mare is a trail riding machine. Merry is always sure footed and guaranteed to take care of her person. She’s never a dull or boring ride by any means. She won’t go faster than you want, but isn’t a kick ride either. She will pick up and go when asked. She’s a fun horse to take on paper chases or just to have fun with out and about. Merry will ride right into town and stand tied anywhere. We recently took her XC schooling, and she popped over all the logs with ease. She’s quite the mare with a ton of potential.
In the ring, Merry is straightforward and simple. She has the least experience doing ring work but is the type of horse that is willing to try anything. She always wants to please her rider, and has recently started some simple pole work. She’s honest and willing with everything thrown at her. Merry is not a complete deadhead, but is not one to get upset or spook. She has absolutely no buck or rear. Because she was primarily a driving horse, she is used to doing the walk/trot job. If someone wanted to develop her canter, they can do that with more practice. She has a great stop, whether it’s off your seat or with a simple “whoa”. She has a good work ethic and enjoys having a job. Best part is that she can sit for a week or two and still be the same horse when she’s put back to work.
In the barn, Merry enjoys attention and likes to be groomed and fussed over. She is easy to work around and is behaved for the farrier and dentist. She stands to clip and is easy to tack up. She gets turned out in a mixed herd and gets along with most other horses.
If you want a solid horse that has already seen a lot and has a good head on her shoulders, she’s your girl. She’d make someone a super driving horse or trail mount and that’s what we’re selling her as. She’s a good girl and as reliable as it gets.

Merry is UTD on shots, dentist, deworming, and farrier. She is available to purchase at $7,500.
