“Faith” - For Sale
14.2 hands : 4 year old : Welsh cross : Mare
Faith is a 14.2 hand, 4 year old, Welsh X, mare. This girl is truly spectacular, and she is absolutely one of a kind. She has the best temperament, and she is a complete sweetheart. She has unique coloring, and all the flashy chrome markings that gets her noticed everywhere she goes. She is safe for kids to work around, easy to handle in the barn, and a complete trail master. She is suitable for many different levels of riders, young and old. Don’t let her age scare you- she is wise beyond her years, and she acts like an old schoolmaster. If we could clone her we would!
In the ring, Faith is more of a push ride, and she has a lovely walk, trot, and canter, both directions. When asked correctly, she will collect, go on the bit, and move off of leg. She is extremely comfortable, and she has a good stop. She is one that we completely trust putting kids on for pony rides. She is a complete saint, and absolutely amateur friendly. She has done lead-line lessons for beginner kids, and she is always a rockstar. She is never going to go faster than you want, however she can pick up and canter off without having to ask twice. She would make an amazing show pony with her brave attitude, pretty movement, and willingness.
Over jumps, Faith has been started slowly and correctly. She has not been pushed hard at her age, however she has been exposed to many different looking jumps, and has gone out cross country schooling. She will happily pop over cross rails in the ring, and always looks cute doing it. She is honest, brave, and wants to please. With more schooling, she could absolutely make a nice hunter pony. She pops over logs on the trail without thinking twice. She would be fun to take out on paper chases, or on a fox hunt. She is so versatile, and she is the right age to make into the ride you want.
On the trail, Faith is happy to mosey along in the back of the group. She will go on a loose rein, and she’ll never go faster than you want. She takes care of her rider, and we trust her with guests, and beginner types for a hack out. If you can hold the reins and steer, you can ride her. She will also lead the group bravely. She will go swimming in the lake, through bridges, and jump logs and small fences. She has been exposed to dogs, bikes, hikers, deer, tarps, boats, minibikes, traffic, equipment, and just about anything you can think of. We can’t say enough good things about her brain.
In the barn, Faith is easy to handle and tack up. She is used to the littles grooming her, and giving her treats. She is always gentle, and she loves any kind of attention. She picks up all four feet easily, and is well behaved for the farrier and vet. Faith can go out with other mares and geldings. She is not the dominant type out in the pasture, and she seems to get along with everyone. You would not know she’s a mare unless you looked. She is truly one of a kind, and we want the best home possible for this special girl.
