Julian is a 7 year old Dutch Harness gelding standing 17.1 hands high. Julian is the type of horse you can take anywhere and do anything with. He is currently in a dressage program and is improving with leaps and bounds with every ride. He will be one that will easily move up the levels with his rider. Julian is also an honest and athletic jumper, a reliable trail horse, and is always willing and happy to try new things with his people. Julian is both safe and fun for any equestrian activity you can think of. Whether you want to try skijoring, dressage, jumping, pulling the kids in a sled, trail riding, or enjoy a hunter pace, Julian is your guy!
In the ring, Julian is one of the most comfortable Dutch Harness Horses we have ever sat on. He has three correct and balanced gaits, and a fantastic canter. Julian is the perfect mix of whoa and go and has great brakes. Julian is easy to keep in a frame, likes to be round, and is getting stronger and stronger through his topline with every ride. We have started him on some basic lateral work and should be simple as can be to finish off and move up the levels with. On the other hand, if showing isn’t your thing, Julian is also happy being used for lessons and for the kids to just enjoy around the farm. Julian has been started over fences as well. He is honest and always tries his best. He has schooled up to 3”3 with scope for more.
Off property, Julian is simple and easy to work with. He has tons of trail miles, hunter pace experience, and is trailered off property weekly for lessons. He is happy and accustomed to going to new places and always settles in quickly. On the trails, Julian will lead follow or ride alone. He crosses water, bridges, and is safe around traffic. We have even taken him on cross country/trail riding skijoring trips! Julian is always up for a new and fun adventure!
In the barn, Julian is a total love bug. He has the sweetest look in his eye and adores attention. Julian is good around dogs, kids, and other farm animals. He stands to be groomed, tacked, clipped, and loved on. Julian is happy living inside or out, and gets along well in a mixed herd of mares and geldings. All in all, he is an absolute pleasure to have in the barn.
Julian is the type of horse that makes you want to come to the barn every day to see and ride him. He is truly an all around fun horse that will always have you enjoying your time in the saddle. He is so versatile and good minded that he will fit in and be successful anywhere in any, or multiple disciplines!
