Solus is a 5 year old Percheron/TB gelding standing 16.2 hands high. Solus is a great size for any rider. He is tall and sturdy enough for husbands and guests, while being quiet and gentle enough for children and petite riders. Solus is the most trusty trail horse, and enjoys hacking out, hunter paces, and paper chases. He is an easygoing and steady type of ride in the arena, and is happy going around slow, steady, and relaxed no matter who his rider is. Solus is a great family type who can be ridden every day or once a week. He is the type of horse you can always enjoy yourself on and never have to worry about funny business.
In the ring, Solus is as straightforward as they come. He will walk trot and canter on a loose rein or go in a frame when asked. He is easy to steer and has the best brakes. Solus listens well to his rider and is great with voice commands too. Solus can often be seen being ridden around bareback by the children or trotting around a cross rail course while our nieces and nephews have fun and give each other riding lessons and play around.
Off of our property, Solus is a reliable trail master. He will cross any obstacle and has no trouble giving young horses, or nervous riders the confidence they need. Most of Solus’ experience is out on the trails. He has miles and miles of exploration under his belt. He greatly enjoys seeing new things and riding around the countryside. He would definitely make a great hunt prospect as well! Solus is used to being thrown in the trailer and heading off to the state park for a trail ride with friends. He is easy to load and stands well on and tied to the trailer.
Under harness, this sweet guy knows his job. He’s been driven on and off the road and to all types of farm equipment. He has a good work ethic and tries his hardest to please all the time.
In the barn, Solus is easy to get along with and the easiest of keepers. He is content living inside or out, and is the same horse whether he is stalled or out 24/7. He is turned out with mares and other geldings and never causes a fuss. Solus enjoys people and getting attention. This is a handsome gelding who is a good low level, all around horse. He would be happy living in your backyard or at a big barn.
